ACORN Cape Breton

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is "a union of low and moderate income families, young workers, cultural workers, assistance recipients and the rest of the 99% fighting for a better [community]."  The Cape Breton chapter of ACORN's most important goal right now is to fight for renters' rights.

As a renter myself, and having seen the deplorable condition of some of the apartments in my local area, I felt this was a cause worth supporting.  ACORN is here to help us fight to improve our living conditions, but they're is only as strong as the size of its membership.  It's vital they get the word out there; the more people who join ACORN, the greater their power to affect change.

With this episode, I'm doing my part to get the word out.

This episode is dedicated to my sister Mandy who recently suffered a personal loss.  ACORN's core message is, "you are not alone."  So too, my message to Mandy is, "you are not alone."  I'm here for you; we're all here for you.
